Episode 10: Consent Wizard Chronicles

This week I am joined by Mia Schachter. Mia is a consent educator and an intimacy coordinator for TV and film, as well as a podcaster and writer. Their background in philosophy, gender studies, and neuroscience informs their work. They teach classes online, work privately with individuals and duos, and they’ve intimacy coordinated shows such as HBO’s Perry Mason, ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, and BET’s Twenties.

In this episode we talk about The O.C. & Sex and the City as sex ed, the power that small comments can have on impressionable young people, the experience of gender as a fluid identity, how a lack of sex ed can shape the rest of our lives, the process of unlearning gender stereotypes, the importance of a nuanced understanding of consent, and more.

You can learn more about Mia, work with them, buy their pre-recorded classes & workbooks, and join their Patreon at their website www.sharetheloadinc.com. You can follow along with them on instagram @ConsentWizard. Their podcast is called Share The Load and can be found on their website, or wherever you stream podcasts.
